NECA revealed it's NES Godzilla figure, [Here] and I've seen alot of people bitching about it using the "wrong incarnation". So I'm going to go into a rant laying it out straight detailing how it's a proper pick for he figure.

The figure sculpt used is a modified version of their Godzilla 1985, with a different set of spines. People are bitching about how it's not the one that is on the cover of the American box art of Godzilla, Monster of Monsters, the supposed Godzilla it represents.

The Godzilla on the cover is that of the 1954 incarnation: [Here]

So that means the Godzilla used in GMOM is 1954, right? But wait -
The JAPANESE title screen of the game shows that of Godzilla 1964 [Here] and easily distinguishable as the same incarnation in the ending cutscene in both Japanese and American releases: [Here]. And in the in-game it looks like multiple different Godzillas (mainly 90s oddly enough) so whose to say which incarnation is correct.

"But wait BGL, that's still not Godzilla 1985 why would they have chose that one instead of Mosugoji then?" Simple.GODZILLA MONSTER OF MONSTERS WAS RELEASED IN 1988 IN JAPAN, therefore, NECA simply used the games date of release to identify which Godzilla they would use. Since Godzilla vs Biollante would not have came out for another year, Godzilla Monster of Monsters was released during the period when Godzilla 1985 was still the latest incarnation of Godzilla.

Either that or NECA was infact lazy. But don't fucking bitch about how it's not the right incarnation since it kindof is.

I blow your fucking mind or not? Eh, well I' getting it regardless of what you plebeians say about it. Ciao.

I always interpreted the sprite design as being closest to G85 either way, so I'm not all that bothered.
